Help me make the case for a Miata to my wife

My family owned an automatic second generation Fit Sport. Here are my impressions.

Pros: - Spacious, especially for a small car - Lots of cubbyholes, cup holders, and pockets - Auxiliary and USB audio inputs - Good fuel economy - Cheap on insurance - Telescoping steering wheel - Cheap car overall

Cons: - No torque. It struggles keeping up with traffic on freeways and going up hills. - The electric throttle response makes it really punchy at first to give you the false impression that the car has pep. If you stay on it, that pep goes away really fast. - The autobox is aimed towards efficiency, which means it will be in the highest gear as soon as possible. The box will go up to 5th while I'm still accelerating from a stop. The paddles don't help, because then you're reminded of how gutless the engine is. - Electric steering can't seem to make up its mind. It seems to inconsistently switche from moderately heavy to stupid light. - Soft suspension - Massive forward blind spots. This one is a real dealbreaker. The a-pillars are super thick and block a good portion of your somewhat peripheral view. At a stop or intersection, I wouldn't be able to see a whole car to my left. A whole car! And more times than once, my passenger has told me to watch out for a pedestrian that I could not see, and would continue to not see until he/she walked in front of my headlights.

I could say that this is a good city car and nothing more, but the forward blindspot makes me really question how anyone can think positively about this car, or even how it got passed the design evaluations. I can forgive everything else to say that it's purely a Point A to Point B car, but not the a-pillars.
