HMFT After I cross this road without looking

She walks out in front of him 10 ft before he gets there.

And the driver should have had no issue seeing her standing on the curb, and the people standing in the roadway at the time, in time to slow down and verify her intentions. He should have never though about proceeding with people in the roadway

Ok so 10 mph below the speed limit? 20?

As slow as necessary to avoid a collision. There is no law against this, is it really that hard to understand?

If the driver was going 10 mph and the girl stepped out in front of him right when he got to her, is it still his fault

I don't care about you hypotheticals. The fact of the matter is that there were people in the roadway already and a girl standing on the median. Clearly about to cross and not paying attention. He should have slowed down far in advance and come to a stop until those in the roadway cleared the roadway, but instead chose to speed through the intersection, running down a pedestrian.

You should not have to come to a complete stop on a GREEN LIGHT where there is NO CROSSWALK just just because someone is standing on the side of the road waiting to cross. Are you kidding me? That's how you cause an accident.

This. Isn't. What. Happened. There were already two people in the middle of the road, and one on the median. You don't get to run someone down while they're crossing just because a light turned green. Are you insane?

It's up to the driver to pay attention AND the pedestrian to not walk into the highway without looking. I don't have to pick one.

Yet here you are. Saying it's entirely the pedestrians fault, even though the driver clearly wasn't paying attention and did not do the thing they were supposed to do.

The girl walked out in front of the vehicle right as he was approaching her.

The driver sped through a busy intersection with three people in the right of way.

You can see that he tries to slam on the breaks by the way the car moves but it's already too late

He was too late because he wasn't paying attention. And was moving too fast for the current conditions. Had he slowed down and allowed those who were in the roadway to finish crossing, none of this would have happened. There is no excuse for a driver not to react accordingly to roadway conditions. You personally shouldn't be driving if you don't understand this.

So you agree that some of the blame falls on her then?

Sure, she should've been paying attention, as should the driver have been, but it's the drivers responsibility to watch out for themselves and others who may do irrational things. The driver poses a much greater risk to others than the pedestrian does. If a pedestrian walks into a car, the car is fine. If a car drives into a pedestrian, the pedestrian can die.

Never said that.

Yet it's exactly what you're arguing when you say that it's unreasonable for a driver to come to a stop when there's multiple people in the roadway.
