Honey Badger Brigade seeking legal redress against Calgary Expo

This is all very interesting, but from a legal perspective the Honey Badgers should just hang it up and let this go. Despite all of their endless rationalizing, the fact is that on Friday night Alison posted on YouTube an insulting video about the feminist panelists "donning the robes of victimhood". (This tape has since been deleted for excellent reasons.) At the moment the Honey Badgers are extremely focused on what Alison said. They should be focusing on the very balanced responses of the panel, who agreed that men are often unfairly portrayed and that this should be addressed. Alison's video was unfair, incorrect and unreasonably insulting to the members of the panel. It stemmed from her personal views about feminists and NOT from her personal experience with feminists at the conference, which she very strongly mis-portrayed. Posting publicly an unfair and misleading video like that one is most definitely harassing to panel members. It is most definitely creating a hostile atmosphere and violating the rules of the conference. It is utter nonsense that Alison and the Honey Badgers simply overlook this video posted on YouTube on Friday when they were ejected from the conference the very next morning. Nope, you don't get to publish slander on YouTube and then walk in and say, "But we didn't violate any of the rules of the conference in THIS building." Seriously?

Nope, when you are ejected from a conference you are not entitled to a comprehensive list from some security guard of all the reasons for that ejection. Nope, when you publish baseless slander against conference panelists on YouTube you are not entitled to just receive a warning. So you can keep walking around with a tape recorder, pick and choose what parts you want to publicize, and do it all over again.

As much as they would like to say otherwise, this lawsuit is not about gamergate or MRA's. This lawsuit is about unfairly harassing panel members on YouTube. On a tape that even the Honey Badgers are ashamed of since they deleted it.
