Self improvement and academia

“Out of sound academic practice and healthy skepticism I cannot accept any of these.”

A student immediately closed off to new ideas is off to a less than ideal start. Of course, this is a common folly of youth and I don’t judge you for it. But perhaps open yourself to the idea that some ideas endure not simply because of tradition, but because of their utility.

Also, it’s pseudo-intellectual. Though I appreciate that perhaps English isn’t your first language.

Best of luck with your studies. Though I’d also encourage you to privilege your health (in the holistic sense) over your studies. Something I wish I’d done during graduate school.

Sincerely,

A postdoctoral fellow at an extremely well-regarded institution
