Not everyone knows. Some people don’t choose to look. You have to remember that they are business. They look at everything from the view point of proton and making money. The leaks give the players a relatively detailed outlook of the banners to come and as such players decide before hand if they can and should save for whoever. The only reason I didn’t pull on the yoimiya banner was because I knew raiden was coming in the next patch, since the start of the yoimiya, and I knew I wasn’t going to have enough gems for both. I am still F2P so In my particular case it wouldn’t have made a difference, but when mihoyo announces the characters for the next patch a wee and a half before the patch, the player don’t have enough time to save up especially if they pulled ok the last banner, which is something they probably wouldn’t have don’t if they knew from weeks earlier what character was coming next. So now those players who pulled on the current banner, and still really wasn’t the character on the next one, might be tempted to spend money for them.
