Haven't told family yet. Tested the waters with some Muslim friends I knew anonymously online (from other Muslim circles that I don't really hang out in anymore for obvious reasons). The reactions were mixed. I got a lot of "you do you" but also quite a few surprised reactions and people trying to reason me back to Islam. I basically felt like I burned my bridges with all of these conversations though but to be fair, all of the relationships were built off of a shared interest in Islam, something these people are still very connected to, so it makes sense. It's definitely made me a bit more hesitant and cautious with coming out before I'm financially safe though.
