What an insult to women in Iran.

Yes, totally agree with the point that if not wearing it is a sin, it isn't really a choice anyway. But if someone wants to wear it anyway, why can't we leave them be? Women should have the freedom to either cover up or to not do so.

I've had the discussion with someone before as well that those who wear it show off anyway so what's the point? And that the whole point of hijab was to protect women from the male gaze and to identify themselves as Muslims by the way they dress(which is odd because women covered from head to toe are victims of sexual assaults too)

My point is that we don't know why a woman dresses the way she does. Just leave them be. This is exactly what Iranian women are fighting for, to not impose anything and to give everyone freedom to follow what they believe in.
