U.S. Dollar Strength Lifts Americans’ Relative Spending Power — The Wall Street Journal

This is nonsensical. We're agreeing that inflation has eroded American's purchasing power. Everyone is agreeing, it's put us in a real bind, crushing budgets, crushing our purchasing power on wages, but also eliminating purchasing power on lifetimes of savings for which the consequences could span years, perhaps the remainder of many lives. Yet, our "relative spending power" is being "lifted". This means nothing, tell us nothing. At best, we could stretch this to interpret as "it's tough for you, but other people have it worse". There is no need to try to put a positive spin on the situation for anyone.

That said, I'm weary of the topic in general. Till someone has a solution that makes us whole again, I wish they'd hush. This is the third time in my life, and likely the last, that I've been wiped down about 50%. I'm spent. Exhausted. The system is broken from top to bottom. Every time they play out these boom and bust cycles, the working class loses ground, literally in some cases, and the uber wealthy gain. This time is no different. We're all down 50% and the uber wealthy have doubled their net worth. Their snowball of wealth will continue to accumulate till there is nothing left to take.
