How many and what cars have you driven? Out of those, which is the best and worst, and which gets a notable mention?

Owned:

  • 1982 Ford Econoline 350 that has been converted to 4 wheel drive. I love the interior space, lack of electronics and uniqueness. I don't like the interior noise (12 feet of bare metal floor doesn't help) and gas mileage. I would love it more if it had a diesel engine and manual transmission.

Parent's cars that I drove:

  • 2011 F-150 CCSB 4x4 King Ranch. My favorite of the cars my parents have owned since I was able to drive. Very comfortable, quiet (if you drive normally) and easy to drive. Also gets the best MPG of all our cars.
  • 2010 Mercedes GL450. Honestly my least favorite of my parent's cars. I don't like the throttle response (there's a dead zone consisting of the first 10% of the pedal travel. I have to press it further to back into the garage than I do to maintain highway speed in my E350) and I feel like it was a little overpriced. It does ride nice, have plenty of power (once you get past the dead spot) and handle well for a crossover.
  • 2004 Nissan Quest. It's a minivan, but a good one. Decent power, good handling for what it is, reliable, comfortable.
  • 1999 Ford Windstar. Unreliable POS, but I loved the seats and soft suspension. Went to the junkyard shortly after I started driving.

Other cars I drove:

  • Grandma's early 2000's Cadillac sedan. It's a great highway cruiser with comfortable seats and soft suspension. Didn't get to take it on any roads more interesting than a 4 lane highway with a 35mph speed limit when I drove it, but I did ride in it quite a bit. Only thing I noticed that I don't like about it is the gas pedal was extremely soft.
  • Uncle's 2002 Dodge Dakota. Great little truck, but despite being the V8 model it seemed to not have much power. Also don't like that it's taking up space on our driveway even though we can't legally drive it, but that's not the truck's fault.
  • Generic small chevy/gmc sedan in driver's ed. Can't remember much about it.
