Does it take a long time to get into the union?

Where I’m at every month there’s a presentation for people that are curious/interested in getting in. At the end of the presentation you’re able to ask specific questions. If at all possible see if you can find more people that work for the local union halls in your area besides your one friend. It will give you a broader perspective on how much work is in your area.

There are many specialties within union carpentry. What’s good to know is that if you do get in, and work slows down for the company you’re with you can bounce around to other companies doing the same thing or other types of carpentry. All without losing the past time you’ve put in. Good luck
