How old are you and what's your biggest problem right now?

32, I moved up to store manager recently. Sounds good but it isn't really. 48 hours minimum, it goes way up almost every week thanks to callouts. Worst parts?

1 - while I am making better money, if you account for overtime it's similar or sometimes worse than what I'd make if I was still an assistant. I had a remodel where I worked 80+ hours a week for a few weeks, and I would have literally made over twice as much as my salary if I had current ASM pay of 15/hr plus overtime.

2 - I've worked there so long I care about all my coworkers, my customers, and my store. I'm now the person I never thought was real who works almost entirely because he wants his place of work to be successful, so I can't even quit. Not without feeling super shitty anyway.

I could likely make about as good or better money somewhere else and have more time to myself, but it feels like giving up to do so. I've never really felt that way before, or felt some of the levels of stress I've felt since moving up before, not even back when I was getting evicted from my first house which used to be my high stress standard. That only effected me and my roommates though, this is me and my employees.

It sucks ha
