I had a "great" experience, in that I saw a psychiatrist who diagnosed me accurately and gave me the meds I requested (miss me with that SSRI sexual dysfunction side effect shit).
It felt VERY transactional, as does all North American medicine. Like the experience is:
walk in, sit down
Me: "Hi, thanks for seeing me tod—"
Psych: "Yes hi please sign this" hands clipboard which states that they have treated you and can claim $120-odd from Blue Cross
Me: "Uhhh... okay, so... sure." signs "I've been feeling better since the last time!"
Psych: "Great! Here's a prescription for the same thing! Everything else going well?"
Me: "Uhh... Yeah, I mean, I no longer want to kill myself but classes are still hard..."
Pysch: "Okay great! I'll see you again in 3 months, if there's anything else you need email me."

So if all you want is meds and you know what works for you, you're okay with it being a 4-minute transactional experience, you can get top of the line treatment.
If you need anything other than that, I can't help you, I don't believe that McGill is able to provide that.
