How and when does gay marriage ruin society?

So you're asking us to believe that god created someone purposefully with sexual desire toward their own sex but then commands that they have to, for their entire lives, deny those desires?

God does not "create" your desires in you. Do you think babies are born with these desires? They eventually, given our human imperfection, become a part of us, but not dictated by God. Otherwise the proposition would, as you say, be ridiculous.

I'll use your own scripture against you by reminding you of verses that say "my yolk is easy and my burden is light" or "god will not tempt you beyond what you can bear".

It is not implying that following the ethical code of the bible is easy to carry. It's saying that he will give peace to those that follow him; it seems you're forgetting about forgiveness. If you commit a sin and you truly regret it, by confessing, repenting, and receiving a penance, you are forgiven.

As for the other piece, let's quote the complete sentence:

"He will not let you be tried beyond what you are able to bear, but with the trial will also provide a way out so that you may be able to endure it."

Do you think that homosexual people don't have control over their desires and that remaining chaste is absolutely beyond what they can bear? That they have no control over their actions because they are bound to fall every time they are tempted by something? If the answer is no, then you agree that they are not tempted in such a way that they are not able to endure it.

You're seriously suggesting that a human being should go through their entire life and never participate in a sexual act even one time? You do realize this is ridiculous, cruel, unjust and utterly unrealistic?

It seems to me from that sentence that you are a hedonist or at least somewhat identify with that philosophy. Am I correct? Yes, I'm suggesting that in certain cases, a person ought to remain chaste. Priests, nuns, they are also expected to remain chaste for the rest of their lives. Do I think it's easy? Not at all, by any chance. But I don't think it's ridiculous, cruel, unjust or utterly unrealistic. Why? Because no one is forcing you to follow the bible. It's a choice. More than that, there are people who remain celibate for their entire lives, or at least after they repent and decide to remain chaste; if not, and they truly regret it, again, they are forgiven. So no, regardless of Christianity being true or not, the notion is not utterly unrealistic.
