It's really basic logic, if you have more criminals free they commit crime, if you lock them up...they aren't doing crime.

"Developed nations" don't have our levels of crime to begin with. (Neither did we until the late 60s) Our crime rate went up long before mass incarceration, which as it rose from the late 80s into the 90s precededing the drop in crime
