I love Murphy, he is probly my favourite, but you shouldn’t use an example from episode 4/100 to base his character after 7 seasons. If you didn’t think he was a dick after watching him pee on people, then idk. Does he change, hell ya. Did Clarke or Bellamy want that hanging, no. Did Murphy proceed to kill all the people (besides Bellamy, tho raven ends up disabled instead) responsible, yes.

Clarke is a different story and arguably not awesome, but in the instance you give of the Murphy hanging.... Clarke is sickened by everyone’s behaviour and trying to save Charlotte. So, in that situation, definitely not the ‘bad guy’. Murphy wanting to kill the 12ish yo... not the good guy.
