To be fair, while Wells hasn’t been in the narrative much recently, he was mentioned pretty often in reference to Jaha and to a much lesser extent Clarke. Jaha saw a hallucination, carried around Well’s chess piece, forced Murphy into visiting his grave, all in season 2. In season 3 not being able to remember his son is a point of contention. Monty in season 4 (for some reason or other) tells Jaha that “your son would be ashamed of you.” And Jaha’s last words were, I believe, “take me to Wells.”

Clarke gets less Wells mentions. In season 3, ALIE uses the memory of Wells to bait Clarke’s guilt. And Wells has about three images on Clarke’s memory wall in 6x07. She was supposed to see him instead of Monty in 6x07, but alas, the schedule for Well’s actor was full. I can see why you would see this as Clarke having no reaction since she does not linger much on his memory, but I always perceived this as her inability to properly grieve.

Compared to other dead characters that are mentioned more frequently (and at this point dead characters are being mentioned around an episode. I think 7x04 was the only episode this season that didn’t mention or show a dead character) Wells has been sort of forgotten lately. That’s why he’s towards the top of my list for characters I want to see again in season 7.
