I'm sorry, but the mentality of some players blows my mind.

I don't understand why you're trying to make it seem like anyone who doesn't spend extra time helping people is inherently an asshole. What's wrong with leaving after you get what you need? Why do you think people are obligated in any way to stick around and do more hunts if they don't actually need any items? If that's what you want to do, that's great. But I don't think you should demonize someone just because they're not willing to spend an extra half an hour fighting a monster they do't need parts from just for another person's sake. Sometimes I just want to get a fucking gem and then I want to go get other stuff done, I don't really feel the need to hunt 5 more Shagarus when I don't need any items. Am I an "asshole" now because I prioritize my own time over helping people?

I agree that it's pretty selfish to try and interrupt people's farming with your own quest. THAT is being an asshole. But I don't understand this mentality of "if you don't do x number of quests with the group then fuck you you're an asshole." I don't play multiplayer for other people, I play multiplayer so I can get items faster. I'm contributing to the hunt, I'm not leaving mid quest, so who cares how many quests I actually stick around for? If I happen to get my gem right away, in a quest that I contributed to, then why should I be forced to stick around and waste my own time just so I'm not called an asshole? It's not like I'm being "selfish," I helped everyone else for that quest too, I made it go faster than if there were only three people.

Here's how I see it. They helped me clear that quest, and I helped them clear that quest. Where is the obligation to keep helping them with more quests? What exactly do I "owe" other players? I helped with one quest, they helped with one quest, boom, we're even. It's not like there won't be other people who join to help.

Hell, you could even see it as a bad thing in general if people who don't need items are taking up room slots. What if someone else is looking for a group of Shagaru hunters to get a gem, and all of the rooms are full of people who are just helping because they can? Isn't it actually better if I leave and make a slot for people who will actually benefit from the quests?

Either way, if you ask me it's incredibly arrogant to assume that anyone who doesn't do ten fucking quests in a row after getting the item they were looking for is automatically a selfish asshole. Sorry that I'm not willing to spend extra time every time I need a gem fighting ten more of that monster just to satisfy your moral qualifications to.
