Time to bring up the distinction that Reddit loves to hate: pedophiles are attracted to prepubescent children. For purely evolutionary reasons I think that this is probably the most uncommon variety of sexual deviance involving attraction to minors. The vast majority of people who are called pedophiles are actually not. Rather they are attracted to women somewhere in the 13-16 age range. Technically 17 is illegal (United States) too but let's be honest nobody really cares. Most of these individuals are entirely capable of being equally or at least almost equally attracted to adults and so it's not that much of an issue as long as the person has some self control. It's important to keep in mind also that women hit puberty four years early on average in this country and that men are biologically responding to this fact in turn. It's kind of dumb to blame them just for being attracted. But even though women are physically maturing more quickly they may not psychologically be ready. Of course a large amount of women are simply going to give in to the peer pressure to demonize these individuals. But still. If you're a man who is old enough to understand that you're going to hurt someone's feelings you probably just shouldn't do it.
