Informal AF-AM discussion taking place now!

All I'm saying is, criticizing asian females for dating white males but being perfectly fine with AMWF couples is completely hypocritical.

No one disagreed with that. This point is and should not be under attack. However, understanding why people do this even when it's wrong is more complicated than "they are sexist/racist". And understanding why is a necessary component to stopping it. (Yes sometimes people really are sexist/racist, but I am not ready to concede they were all born this way without a deeper reason.)

You say it is not equal, based on what?

I'm not saying it is not equal. I am saying it is not fair. I am not saying it's wrong. I am saying it exists. This is classic diagram:

Yeah, there are more AFWM couples, not even a doubt about that.

Good we have agreement on one of the facts of this discussion. Nice to see some progress from the first posts. (Though I'd say about even, not necessarily more.)

How does that change anything?

It does not change anything! Most reasonable AM don't expect anything to change with this regard, not with AW and not with any other demographic. Sure the numbers might move around a bit, but the fundamentals of society are still rock solid where they stand.

Can you acknowledge this is an unusual dynamic between two genders of a community?

Maybe you even agree that this is a net detriment to AM, but that might be expecting too much. Nothing on purpose of course, these things rarely come about and stick around due to malice or even conscious decisions.

This is just another one of those instances where people are crying because they can't get everything.

This is the rubber stamp response to any minority complaint. Women and equal pay (they want work and family). Women and harassment (they want to dress and not be "complimented"). Gays and marriage (civil unions are good enough). Latinos and immigration (they want to break the law and take our jobs). Blacks and anything. So yes, it is just another one of those instances.

Yes those people exist. I would like to think most people want some assurance that it was not completely their fault. That it was not because they were some how born not good enough. Sure they could've done this or that differently, but they want to know that their experiences and their thoughts and those of their friends and family are not some isolate illusion or miscarriage of justice. They want to know that the obstacles they faced and still face in life are real, are appreciated, and that they are not alone. American individualism has a price and this is it.
