The Democratic party is a good example of this. They were once representative of the racism and segregation laws that people find so abhorrent. But their symbols and what the word Democrat means, has changed.

Political groups change naturally over the course society to accommodate their constituents needs. A symbol made on the basis of human trafficking and treason that's flown for that heritage/ reason alone, does not.
