Instead of adding a skip, can they just hotfix it so that Jaina drops 2 mounts instead of 1?

Blizz does this because it’s a form of stat padding to them. They no longer report the number of active subscribers in their quarterly filings or investor calls. So how do they report increases or decreases in player engagement? They instead say “players spent on average 45 minutes per day playing blizzard games”. Making you run a bit farther skews that statistic in a favorable direction for blizz.

If fact, its easier on their servers if you DONT play around the clock.

I get what you’re saying, but I’m the context of this discussion (marginal increases to playtime) this is likely false. Much of blizzard’s costs are probably fixed, in the sense that they won’t change if their player population increases by 50 tomorrow, or if their players play 10 minutes longer (or 10 mins less) tomorrow. The cost to pay that game master’s hourly wages isn’t going to change, he’s going to get paid 8 hours tomorrow no matter how many players play. Any variable cost associated with marginal fluctuations in play time is probably very small
