I did this for GTA 5, I shared BS spoilers about the game's plot and all hell broke loose upon me.

A forum I used to frequent (a large and active forum with millions of active users) had a main thread for GTA 5 and during the weeks leading up to GTA 5's launch it was by far most active thread in the entire website.

About a week or so before GTA 5's release date when early footage of the game started to leak, I decided to use the opportunity to share some BS 'spoilers'.

I acted naive, innocently "AWESOME" details about the game people have never heard of. I wrote about how I watched a Youtube video of a mission where Franklin's dog Chop dog would be killed by a rival gang, I wrote about how Trevor murdered Michael's wife Amanda, and some other 'major' plot 'spoilers' that I can no longer remember.

Dozens of people called me slurs and combination of slurs I've never heard of before or could have never imagined. The thread started to have a meltdown and a few hours in when the mods could no longer handle the chaos, the thread was locked for an entire day. Dozens of people who hurled slurs at me got banned, including where a mod had to use bit of a liberal interpretation of the website rules to ban me because I never actually broke forum rules.

I haven't been active in that forum in years now, thought about revisiting it again to throw around some BS spoilers for RDR2 but I got lazy :)
