I've seen a lot of posts about cloth diapers, but I was just wondering on what everyone thought about cloth vs. disposable(ex. pampers)

I've done both. I like each of them for separate reasons.

Cloth diapers can be cheaper. I like having a stash of them that I can just reuse instead of needing to run to the store to buy diapers all the time. Diaper laundry isn't as difficult as I thought it may be. Poops aren't fun to deal with, but they really aren't bad and I've dealt with worse in disposables (i.e. blowouts). The best part is that if your baby is EBF, you don't need to rinse them and can just throw the whole damn thing in the washer! We didn't start until our daughter was eating solids, so we have to rinse them. But we just dunk and swirl them in the toilet and then throw them in the wet bag; it's not so bad. I do feel like they leak pee more though. You can definitely leave a disposable diaper on longer and it will soak up more (not that you should leave your kid in pee, just comparing) whereas the cloth diaper only holds so much. We've been having problems with overnight leaks. They make "overnight cloth diapers" though that are supposed to be more absorbent. But they are out of my price range; I've stuck with only the CHEAPEST of the cloth diapers, so that could be a factor also. I just switched the way we were using the prefolds also, and that has seemed to be helping. Also, also, also we've been using non-cloth diaper friendly diaper rash cream so they might be all gunked up in the fibers from that; but I can't seem to find any cloth diaper friendly rash cream anywhere and we don't use it that often. I do feel like my daughter is getting MORE rashes with the cloth diapers. But I think this could have to do with using the wrong diaper rash cream and the fibers being gunked up and maybe not working exactly right. I also think we could tweak our laundry routine a bit. We're still new to this, so still trying to figure some things out.

Disposables are just so easy and convenient. We use them for daycare and if we're going out and about for a while.
