The brattiest feeling ever.

Gifts are about the person receiving the gift, you’re supposed to get something the gift receiver wants. Idk why gift givers seem to think it’s about themselves.

And we need to stop with the “registries are a GUIDE” mindset. For example: the high chair I want isn’t a guide so you can go pick whatever, I went with one that meets safety standards, has an adjustable foot rest for baby, etc. It blew my mind how many high chairs are on the market without appropriate foot rests which makes for unsafe eating. And I’m not saying anyone should buy my high chair, those are expensive and I fully imagine I’ll purchase it myself. I’m just saying people should respect that parents want certain things for their children and there’s a reason for that-be it wanting to be eco friendly, having a history of sensitive skin so wanting to be aware of that, or wanting to be minimalistic. And if money is the issue, I’ve yet to see a registry that doesn’t have items at low price points. I have $5 items on my registry, please buy the $5 item I’ll actually use rather than spend $5 on a “cute” baby outfit that I may end up donating if it’s not my style. You’re still spending money, why not make sure the money you’re spending is on things that can be used rather than creating more work for a parent who doesn’t need extra “stuff”.
