Has Jackie been brought up on honor charges yet?

There is no need for sexual assault centers, just as there's no need for centers for nonsexual assaults. Victims of sexual assault should immediately report the incident to the police and then be taken into medical facilities for evaluation, therapy, and care by HIGHLY TRAINED professionals in the fields of psychiatry, rehabilitation, etc. Cut all funding from those centers and hire 2-3 professionals for abuse/assault counseling at every University.

What we don't need to do is employ unqualified women, a lot of whom have unfortunately been assaulted, to run a bunch of abuse centers and disseminate incorrect information with their bias views, making this relatively uncommon and declining crime into a nationwide issue. Where do you think the ideas of "rape culture" and that "1 in 4 women are assaulted" came from? It is from these types of organizations. Look at the DOJ report and accept the facts. Sexual assault is not very common, and the rates have been consistently declining.

Sexual assault is a violent crime. We must stop putting it on a special pedestal above other crimes. Let the police handle it and let justice be served. We can't continue to preach understanding of why victims don't report these crimes because of trauma, feelings of embarrassment, etc. With that mentality we make the problem worse. Instead, we need to preach that while we know you're going through hell, the only solution is to speak up NOW, not when you're ready, and it will be worth it when justice is rightfully served for you.

Everyone wants to blame UVa for mishandling cases when they were never equipped to judge violent crimes or give rightful punishments to perpetrators. Everyone wants to act like they're doing something deceitful or running some type of cover up, but what can you possibly do when someone steps into your office and tells you they were assaulted a month ago? Or a year ago? The evidence isn't there.

Sexual assault centers are havens for unsubstantiated beliefs involving modern women's rights, the prevalence of sexual assault, the privilege of men, etc. This whole debacle started because a woman who was sexually assaulted at the university made that assault the focus of her career, and then turned on a reporter to the most horrific rape story she had ever heard.
