When I was in Cuba, good few years ago now - before Fidel stepped down, we went to this... I can't recall the name of it, but it was this religion that was a weird fusion of slave/African religion, local Carib traditions, mixed with Catholicism. Most of the practitioners are black and they went around wearing white suits. Anyone know the thing I'm talking about?

Anyway, point of the story is we went along to a ceremony, I suppose it'd be similar to bar mitzah or confirmation, there was this girl who was in her early teens and she was sat cross legged in this totally bare white painted room, surrounded by beheaded chickens propped up in bowls (perhaps they were vases this was some time ago). Think she was meant to stay there for a few days.

Fucking creepy shit. Pretty cool though eh.
