The lesson should have been from that is "Republicans will make baggage out of literally anything" and "it's easier to lie a million times than debunk the lies", not "we need someone absolutely squeaky clean" because the whole point of mudslinging is to dirty people up.

I promise there is more than a few "dirt compilations" made for every single democrat currently on the 2020 hopeful docket, be it by Republicans, russians, or outsourced groups like CA or even all three. As soon as it becomes important enough to churn them out, they'll flood the airwaves and social media with the same bullshit.

Merely having baggage is not a reason to turn down Democrat's, especially since trump is overpacked on it and did just fine and he has a decebt chance to win again.
