How on earth is there any oppression in western society? I'd love to hear your argument for this.
I didn't listen to the debate, but from what I've been hearing is that he gave an incorrect statistic that said black people were responsible for more of the crime rates in the US? Is that right? That's untrue of course, wealthier black people aren't statistically more likely to commit crimes than poor white people.
If he had that black people in the US are statistically more likely to commit a crime, then no he's not being racist and that's a fact. According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, black people are responsible for 28.7% of violent crimes (despite being only 13% of the population), which is higher than that of every other racial group in the US. For white people it's 22.7%, and for Hispanics it's 24%. Again saying that black people are more likely to commit a crime in the US isn't racism, it's a fact.
Why are black people over represented in criminal statistics? Because they account for the majority of criminal activities that occur in the United States, it's not rocket science, and it's not racism either. It's not racist for me to say that a minority group in the United States is responsible for a significantly large and alarming portion of the murders when I have actual statistics that prove my claim.
As a great man once said, "White privilege is a way to silence people who are not of color. You're basically saying to white people, who aren't racist, and you can't find any proof of their racism, that they must be racist, because they're white. That is called racism, if you are accusing someone of something simply based on the color of their skin and without any evidence, that's called racism, gang." That's a lovely quote from a man named Ben Shapiro :).
What you said was, "We live in a culture where a lot of white people are privileged and racist." You are racist. Unless you can provide me with evidence that the majority of white Americans do hold racial prejudices, then you are actually the one that is being racist. Seriously, you're contradicting yourself here. You say that white people don't experience discrimination, and in the paragraph before you talk about how people of an oppressed group believe that they live in a society where "white people are privileged and racist" despite there being no evidence for this. Listen to yourself.
The majority of white people do not face oppression or discrimination, yea. That's true. The majority of black people do not face oppression or discrimination from white people. The only people that black people are discriminating against is themselves, if not then explain to me why the black-on-black crime rate is so high, why black police officers are more likely to murder a black man than a white police officer is. Again, this isn't racism these are actual facts. Statistical disparity doesn't equate to discrimination.
To sum things up, I'm not defending JonTron at all. I didn't listen to the debate. But your argument against him is hideously wrong and racist in itself.
