Josh Duggar confessed to his father Jim Bob Duggar on three separate occasions to multiple acts of sexual molestation against his sisters and a family friend, according to a new police report.

I think you and the majority of the comments in this thread are trying to fight hypocrisy with hypocrisy. While I'm playing devil's advocate here, please don't mistake me for supporting sex abuse or covering up such events.

First, according to the Duggar's interview (so who knows if this is factual), the kid came to the parents telling them that he touched his sisters inappropriately while they slept. It was over their clothes and he didn't wake them, so apparently it wasn't violent. I remind you that this is a kid that has crazy-ass ultra conservative parents that won't let their kids handhold until they are engaged, homeschooled & going through puberty. He has no outlet and his parents have probably demonized masturbation.

The parents tried to handle it internally. I would like to see one redditor that would throw their kid to the lions in their situation. Nobody would so stop lying.

The kid confessed, again, to the parents after touching his siblings inappropriately while they were playing. The other siblings didn't even realize. Basically, he purposely grabbed a boob during horseplay. Once the parents started getting advice from friends other instances surfaced. Jim Bob reported his son to a highway patrolman after getting christian counseling. The highway patrolman was not a good guy.

I agree that the family shouldn't have such vocal & strong opinions when they have their own skeletons in the closet. But, in my opinion, if he was my son I would have acted just like the Duggars did but, honestly, I wouldn't have reported anything to any authority. This is dependent on if there was obvious distress from my daughters. I don't think most of the commenters here, could be truthful with them-self and admit this. I believe most would seek therapy and stop there.
