Just harvested my first outdoor grow!

Not necessarily, you really just had to get rid of the humidity, I hang mine for one to two weeks in a cool dark room and check it constantly, when the humidity goes above 55%, I open some vents and turn on some fans until the leaves are just starting to dry, then I close it up until 55% again; my rooms usually open for 30 - 60 minutes and then closed for 3-4 hours, I also use dehumidifiers for heavy dense indicas because the humidity gets so high so fast. This process allows the starches to convert to sugars and locks in the flavor and taste. After a week or two of that, depending on the density and strain of the bud, ( you want the chlorophyl to be mostly gone from the leaves, they should be kind of a greyish white with very little green left) it goes into air tight tubs until the leaves are crispy, another 2-4 days maybe, again depending on variables; then I start "trimming", although it's mostly just knocking off dry leaves and cutting stray stems at this point. Once it's trimmed it goes into mason jars that I burp for another 2-5 days and whammo, good weed is now great, great weed is now primo and primo weed is now connoisseur shit.

It's a very long, very involved process that takes a ton of patience and is slightly different every time; I basically live with my weed for 3 weeks or more, you have to get to the point where you can recognize what it's doing and where it's at and adjust accordingly. After a while you'll recognize when it's too dry or too moist, when you should trim, how long to jar it, sometimes I use paper bags after it's trimmed instead of jars if it's still a little moist; there's a ton of techniques and tricks, but if you start doing some science of your own you'll soon start to see that the last step, is actually the most important step.

Trim some quick and let some sit, you'll see the difference
