This kerning physically hurt to see. Big international brand, expensive embossed hardcover … ouch.

Is it just me or the Op is blowing this out of proportion about "legibility" and what not? Hell it isn't even about legibility though they call it that, because each glyph is actually recognisable which means it's actually legible, that's what legibility means in type. But what they actually meant was readibility, even then for 3 lines of text you're somehow unable to comprehend this even though the kerning is a tad bad? Kidding me? Yeah sure the whole thing is badly kerned but all this somehow physically hurts OP to even see it, among other things which all sounds like OP being a pretentious twat. I bet in one of OP's works the kerning is just as bad. If we had to nitpick kerning then this sub would be loaded with posts about kerning day in day out. Rule 4 on the sidebar was for a reason to counter such nonsense.
