Kompany sliding tackle vs Brazil

This proves to me that VAR act like they are in the heat of the moment like the real ref who has to control tempers. They aren't here to call clear violations, I don't even think they're clear on the rules in some cases. Enough incidents this world cup to prove that. I'm a huge supporter of VAR but not when it's implemented like this. This has convinced me even more that refs deliberately don't make/make calls to favor teams or avoid criticism. Before I see VAR I would like a re do of the laws of the game to remove any ambiguity for the VARs. When the ref is hesitant in clear and obvious situations they cannot be. They cannot take the perspective of the ref when they themselves have an almost objective truth with the replays and camera angles. Absolute robbery.

In other sports you get mistakes only when the circumstances mean they can't refer to video. Once they do there is clear guideline which is then communicated. In football rn refs are interpreting how they want to suit their own outcomes and support the main ref rather than just make the distinction between clear violations and non-obvious that actually don't have enough evidence.
