I went to a Christian high school that took it's shit really seriously (I was atheist through and through). So the valedictorian was a complicated system that was like 50% based on grades, 20% based on extracurricular credits, and 10% each on teacher and student based voting.

I was dating this girl and there were 'questionable' things on her phone (it wasn't that bad compared, nobody was naked). My ex concocted a plan during our senior trip and roomed with my girlfriend in order to sneak into her phone and look through everything.

We found out, and decided to preemptively tell the school so we could contain it just in case because it was a ticking time bomb. This was around 2-3 weeks before the end of the school year.

Even though I didn't do anything during a school related event, wore my school uniform, or did anything during school hours or on school premises, they considered my actions to be "detrimental" to the school image. At first they told me I would keep my title, but couldn't take make a public speech, I later found out that they not only took away my speech (which was awesome), but secretly just erased my title as well, which pissed me off.

My parents told me to write a long email to appeal to the principal, and I waited 2 weeks without any reply whatsoever. I wrote this email under my parents' name, which they suggested. So it was fucked up that the school administration ignored my PARENTS and not just me.

Funny enough, the student who replaced me was one of my best and a closet lesbian, and when I told my parents this, they were furious as hell because it looked like an act of betrayal for her to accept the speech/title since she knew everything about my circumstance and didn't protest, instead accepting the title even though she wasn't "clean" in the eyes of the school anyways.
