La Bien Aimee: love the colors, side-eyeing the prices

That's 100% true. Sometimes I buy stupid expensive things because I get a thrill out of owning..... well ..... a stupid expensive thing. There's magic in that, a treat, a luxury, a once in a while indulgence.

I dont have $5,000 to drop on a handbag, but having looked at them, touched them, etc its the exact same thing. They're beautiful if you like that sort of thing (I'm more a slouchy leather bag kinda person) but they are fundamentally no different to much cheaper items (not really talking fast fashion handbags here). They are not worth the price, its all in the label. They're really not fundamentally superior or guaranteed to last longer or anything like that. They're just exclusive.

There's nothing really wrong with that and yes, it inspires many people and can be a nice way to treat yourself. By the same token, you really dont shouldnt have to feel you've had to settle for second best if you elect not to purchase.
