i also hope they dont but this stuff is all religious in nature, science never had much to do with it unfortunately. look at how many stores still have glass/plastic dividers. point is, if you've listened to threedom or follow LA ppl their cultural/religious context is pretty different from people who don't live in a big tech-oriented city/people of lower class/people who don't religiously identify with a political class associated with American neoliberalism. i clearly have my own thoughts about that, but point is for LA the stakes socially are a lot higher to break perceived taboos, even if science contradicts them.
