Paul F. Tompkins, Our Birthday Party Friend, episode #361 of Hollywood Handbook on Earwolf

Oof. There is a lot of supremacy embedded in that, the internalize kind that lives where we don’t think we are racist and might believe we are anti-racist, but our thoughts betray saviorism and so on.

“I’ll teach Native Americans about a society I think is good so they can build that for themselves because I have the good ideas & wouldn’t it be so generous and helpful of me?” No, Jeremy, that’s colonizer thought.

“I love observing non-white people whose lives were ruined by false imprisonment reunite with their loved ones because it makes me feel good.”

The one of feeding unhorsed people isn’t racialized, but still is supremacist & savior isn’t, aka “I know what you need more than you do so I won’t give you what you ask for but what I feel you are worthy of. I don’t trust you to make correct decisions.”
