She was also being manipulated/corrupted by the witness and suffering with millennia’s worth of trauma and suffering from the Whirlwind and Long Drift. Not to mention that she specifically waited til we got there to turn it on, so we could deal with whatever Vex were dispatched through the portal, since she knew we weren’t just going to let the Vex come pouring through if we had a chance to stop them.
