The least liked talks from PyCon 2016

I used to think so and perhaps it is if you stick to only discussing python itself.

I remember 2 big surprises though.

  1. There was a regular poster who was extremely helpful with teaching others about Python. Very patient, friendly, put in a lot of hours answering people's questions. I've probably upvoted him hundreds of times over a couple years. Then one day, I stumble on a post of his in TheRedPill and learn he really hates women. Oh.

  2. Joining a python irc and seeing 2 members I previously respected discussing a recent snapchat-clone leak and wondering if it was full of nudes of minors. Then they download the leaked photos to check for themselves. That was my last day on IRC.

Another one not strictly related to python is about a former prominent redditor who had his own subreddit and website where he taught others how to program. Well, he was in the news a few years back having been arrested for being part of a pedophile-ring and raping his kid.
