It's not. He's basically talking about how we force people to keep going in today's world, and maybe we shouldn't.

My grandfather was in this situation. His health deteriorated, and at one point, his heart gave out, and they basically forced him to stay alive on a bunch of pills and machines and whatnot.

To see him brought low, and basically being forced to stay alive "just because" was... Painful. He could no longer do anything he used to enjoy. He used to paint, play music... He couldn't read much, and would tire within minutes if he tried to speak. It sucks even more because his mind was still sharp, but his body was clearly giving out.

Its been a year since we lost him, and I miss him terribly, but honestly I'm glad he's finally at peace.
