Lenovo Thinkpad T460-like notebook

Hi, my old Samsung Series 9 900X3E-A03 notebook was stolen today, so I'm looking for a replacement. I liked my old Samsung (slim, light, 13 inch), but one thing I always missed was upgradability, especially of battery and of RAM. I got the 4GB RAM variant three years ago when it seemed enough to me (I am Ubuntu Gnome user), but I soon figured out that 8GB would be far better. However, I like the possibility to upgrade the RAM myself, since I try to buy long-lasting products instead of saving a few hundreds of euros and then having to buy a new device soon after. Same with battery: I like to be able to carry a second, fully charged battery around with me and not depend on electricity; also I always fear that my battery gets worse and worse and I cannot replace it. I've been looking around on the Internet for half a day now and I found the Lenovo Thinkpad T460* series to be especially interesting. I quickly dismissed the T460s, although it has great ratings everywhere and is lighter than the T460 and the T460p, but on the T460s I miss the upgrade possibilities, especially the swappable battery. I will use the notebook for university purposes mostly, which means presentations, documents, statistics (mostly R). However, since I will be running Ubuntu only and there are some tiny applications that won't run on Ubuntu, I will use a Windows XP virtual box occasionally. It is worth to mention that I have a good desktop at home, which I use for most more demanding purposes such as occasional gaming. I did get annoyed sometimes because the Samsung was not fast enough (Core i5 3317U, 4GB RAM), but overall it did well. I would be glad if you could give me some recommendations as to which of the T460 and T460p you would prefer and suggestions if there are any other comparable notebooks. Here's the form: Total budget and country of purchase: <=1200€, but I prefer to have a device I can use for a long time and that makes me happy when I use it instead of saving a few bucks. Country of purchase: Germany. Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications to your requirements for the money? Pick or include any that apply. No 2 in 1. Good battery life is a must-have. Specifications should be sufficient for occasional demands, but since I have a desktop, I won't have to rely on my notebook when it comes to very demanding tasks. How important is weight to you? Weight as well as size is important since I will carry the notebook around in my backpack a lot. It should be <=4lbs. However, I'd prefer a robust over an ultra-slim design. Which OS do you require? Windows, Linux, Mac. Just Linux. Will run Windows XP in a Virtual Box. Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. 13"-14" Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. If you have no requirements, put N/A. Statistics (R), documents, presentations, browsing with a lot of tabs, VirtualBox (Windows XP). If you're gaming (leave blank if you put N/A above...), do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable business grade build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? Finger-print reader, optical drive not required, due to Glare-Type no Touchscreen wanted. Good keyboard is a must-have. Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. Thanks a lot in advance.

Thanks, I will do that. However, if anybody knows comparable non-Thinkpad notebooks that would fulfil the requirements, let me know!
