A girl raped by her own father will have no choice but to give birth. A woman at risk of dying in childbirth will not be able to seek a termination. This will be the impact of new legislation to be debated in the Polish Parliament this week which would usher in an almost complete ban on abortion.

Well, men do have one case I can think where they're robbed of bodily autonomy.

It definitely has no place being discussed here, and I would never dare to compare the two. In fact, I wouldn't even be bringing it up, if not for your comment.

Is there anything equivalent for men? No?

Circumcision is the main issue where men are robbed of bodily autonomy. Baby boys who have no possible way to consent are forced to have their genitals operated on because "it's prettier this way" or because "my religion says it's necessary."

I want to make it clear that I am not bringing this up in the hopes to derail this thread's discussion. I'm not bringing it up in an attempt to compare circumcision to the issue at hand. I don't think the issue of circumcision is equal to the issue of abortion, but they both do come from the same train of thought. Humans deserve bodily autonomy.

I just felt like your comment implied men have absolute bodily autonomy, and that they are never robbed of that right. When the reality is, that both men and women have a horse in this race. We both need to be fighting for complete and total bodily autonomy for humanity.

Again, I wouldn't bring this up out of nowhere, like the person you were replying to. This is a thread dedicated to discussing this specific issue women have with bodily autonomy. I get that. I really don't want to take away from that.

Your comment just sounded a little uninformed on the men's side of the issue, so I thought I'd say something.
