Let's talk Eggball strategies and tactics.

Tactics are very important in eggball because unlike regular tagpro there are none of the usual map elements other than walls. Knowing the tactics that can make you faster than your opponent or making your opponents go slower than your team are vital to a team being successful. Playing and moving when you don't have the egg is just as if not more important than what you do when you have the egg.

First tactic is blocking. Blocking is when you position yourself between your opponent and where your opponent wants to go and try to prevent them from getting there. Blocking the opponents near the egg-carrier will allow them the time and space to make an accurate pass. If an opponent is guarding a midfield passing lane, they can be blocked to open up that lane for a pass. Blocking in the endzone can free up a teammate for a reception. A borrowed technique from centerflag is what I call speed-bumping. It's when a you ram another ball to slow down their momentum or to gain yourself some of theirs. This is a very important skill in eggball because the speed margins between the egg-carrier and the chasers is slim (chasers move slightly faster than eggcarriers). The chaser needs every bit of extra momentum the can get. Momentum can be gained from teammates and opponents alike- bumping tactically into teammates can help them get around an opponent to be in a receiving position; swinging around on a transition into an opponent to gain their momentum can be the difference in holding a good defensive position. Poosts. Poosts in eggball happen when the egg is turned over, either by a pass interception or by a tag. Passes that go a far enough distance before being turned over will not result in the passing player being popped. Poosts can be used strategically to affect a significant change in momentum. Some players throw the egg as far as they can when their opponent has closed all the way in on them, then swing into the group of chasing teammates to push them closer to the egg. Walls work the same as in regular tagpro although the bounciness is slightly different because of the physics change. This can be used to the players advantage when changing directions and trying to quickly move laterally across the field. WASD. A lot of players are not as good at using WASD to move their ball as they would be with arrow keys. Practicing and mastering WASD (or whatever movement keys you decide to use) is essential.
