Bad Experience in pubs today

Especially with tagpro, I see a lot of people get worked up over very small things. I've been one of those people.

After last season's tagpro experience, much of me wanted to quit, especially after I'd hop in pubs and get berated there, as well, including by players I knew and have known for a while.

As a tagpro moderator, as well, I've seen a lot of people treating people like imbeciles and using retard and shithead frivolously. For a long time, my tagpro experience was not a negative one, and I would generally have the impression that there are a lot of great people that still play. While that view has been somewhat tainted as I increase my exposure to more of the community, I realize that's just the way every game is.

Especially after the most recent quitting posts, I think a lot of people have lost sight of just being able to have fun. When I captained NLTP a few seasons ago, that was what I tried to achieve as a team unit. I certainly did not do anywhere near a perfect job, but I still talk to many of the guys from that team and still consider them good friends. Same with some of my MLTP teams.

I guess my ultimate reason for ranting is to get some of my feelings out, and along with that, I wanted to state I'm sorry you had such a negative experience. maybe that player was having a bad day, or is a more expressive person of the anger in their irl life impacting their play. A lot of people play games to escape. And it's easy to dump your frustration on other people to make your problems feel better.

Feel free to say hello anytime. I'd love to pub with you and hang. And I encourage you to not let the anger of others become too personal. Sometimes we don't really know what's going on, and we just have to hope that person is okay behind the screen.

Have a nice weekend. :)
