To start with, I'm sorry that your first comment has to be this one. Growing up, I've always seemed to have a problem with chudidhars. Strange, I know, but it's not because I don't prefer traditional clothing or anything. But that one specific kind of clothing, it just creeps the hell out of me. Mostly after I came to know what shawls are actually for. And as I grow up I'm being expected to wear it everywhere - schools, colleges, work, everything. Just like how some people don't prefer jeans, or bright colours, or a certain type of food, I just don't prefer chudidhars. To be fair, it isn't even in our Tamil culture to wear them. I just find it ridiculous that we are expected to wear it so it looks "modest" or whatever. Modesty is a personal preference, in my opinion.
