Limited Resources 591 – Strixhaven Set Review: Common and Uncommon Discussion Thread

They do attempt to consider the context of the set, but I don't think they're doing it enough. They're still evaluating cards more or less in a vacuum instead of saying ok, what is each deck trying to do in the format?

For example, when talking about Guiding Voice, LSV says that a lot of things have to line up for the card to be good. You have to be playing an aggressive white deck that cares about counters and can use Learn. So... Silverquill, then? Literally the thing Silverquill is trying to do? I'm not saying I know for sure that this card is great, because I don't, but I know it should be identified as potentially a key player for one of the 5 decks in the format, and I don't think that came across.
