This little guy was my best friend during the worst of my depression. Please help me save it

I bought one back in March when the pandemic started and so far it’s thriving!

I’m not a plant expert or anything so take my advice with a grain of salt but here’s what has worked for me:

  1. Avoid sunlight at all costs, whether it’s direct or indirect as they prefer shaded areas. I’ve had conversations with people who’s lucky bamboos had died because they had it near a window and was getting too much sunlight. I have mine as a center piece in my room’s desk so the only light it gets it’s from the lightbulbs.

  2. Avoid tap water as it has too much chemicals that can affect the plant and use purified water only. Rain water also works but I live in a very dry area so purified water is my only alternative.

and that’s pretty much it! I haven’t had any yellow leaves or stems in the 10 months I’ve had it and it just keeps growing and growing. I haven’t used any type of fertilizer so far as I didn’t knew they required it but after reading the comments I’ll do my research and buy some for future use.

I hope this helps! And good luck!
