Living in a pretty homophobic country and I don't know what to do. :(

Go to

/r/Australia , /r/USA and /r/Canada

Ask them, there will be immigrants there that went through the exact same thing, I don't know the process because it has changed since my parents moved.

My Dad's family moved here because they were all British citizens relatively easily; it was before Canada was truly free from the Crown.

My Mom's family moved here in the 1960's and the policies were different then.

But I know for sure we don't accept any degrees, and it is annoying/frustrating for immigrants. We even discriminate towards some American programs even though they're basically the same country.

In all three of those countries you can become a national and people will accept you as one of their own, believe me, they're all good choices. I was just saying Canada it is relatively easy to be considered a Canadian by more people, and pretty quickly.

When I see Indian/Asian people first thing that comes to mind is Canadian, when I was in Cuba I saw a bunch of Indians and it made me homesick... which is really weird, I don't even think of China/ India...etc when I see people who look like they're from there, I just think "Canada".

There is racism everywhere, but Canada is the only country that makes it illegal to publicly spread ill will towards minorities, that means most people who are racist aren't going to tell you.

Any metro area in any of those countries is going to be relatively accepting, minus the U.S south, which would be the worst place for you to move.

Basically if you moved to Toronto, Vancouver or Montreal you would be considered Canadian the second you get off the plane, there are so many immigrants here that having an accent/ looking non-white is almost the norm.

I honestly sometimes can't tell if someone has been here for a week, or for years, so they're all just Canadian to me.

It's fucking freezing here though, so you need to factor that in, summers are really nice, but winter is a whole nother thing, and sometimes it's not worth it, so I really would look at Aus and USA too.

I'm just saying Canada will be the quickest/ easiest transition, minus the weather, you will have a good life anywhere that isn't homophobic, even if it's Korea, Japan...etc.
