I think there is a big demand for good DMs in out there so if you want to DM a campaign you can definitely find a group to play with.

Maybe you have to approach selecting the right people differently. You have to establish expectations: e.g. That you expect players to commit to a campaign and show up / not drop out. You also have to hold a session zero to make sure everybody is on board and the expectations match.

I personally deal with the lack of DND by watching Critical Role, so maybe try watching any of the popular TTRPG streams out there. It helps a little bit but socialising IRL is important! If you're feeling depressed make sure you have someone to talk to.
