Just takes time researching and the will to do it (and being ok with maybe breaking something). My family taught me all the mechanical side of things, but no one is interested in the electrical side of things so I had to learn my self. First time was when my buddies started playing PC instead of console. I didn't have the money to buy a 1000+ dollar computer, so I spent a few days online researching and built a comparable computer myself for about $600. Next was wanting a stereo and speakers in my truck. Shop wanted $700, I did it all myself for $250 with a few hours of research. I've learned how to build computers, build wiring harnesses in cars/boats, bodywork, paint and aphoulstery all through google. Its insane the amount of info we have available to us
