Do you Think this Lyme tea would be worth trying?

I didn't want to make a comment because this is pretty out there, but my thinking about treatments is that so long as there isn't a time-related risk (i.e. say if you don't treat with antibiotics very soon after initially getting it, it can turn into a much worse infection), it makes the most sense to start with the least risky treatments first. These generally are foods and herbs and lifestyle changes, and possibly a few natural supplements. Whatever you think about how the guy whose theory I am following claims to get his information, I've found it to be pretty good info so far (and refreshingly clear and intuitive).

I believe in this because it is an essentially risk-less treatment that has had positive effects for a lot of people. I myself have noticed some positive effects (it's been up and down though) after several weeks, and as I said in the comment, his viral theory makes sense to me because I saw 100% health after going out to a doctor in Utah, who has been the only doctor to give me an anti viral (acyclovir); with my other doctors I have only seen mild improvement.

In this book I've been reading, and I'll tell you about what it says first before telling you what it is because you'll (very reasonably) be skeptical, the author says that lyme is actually a virus that lays dormant until some emotional or physical trauma gives it a window to proliferate. This can help to explain a lot of things. One is why it seems to be mostly teenage kids or menopausal women who get the disease-- the dramatic change in hormones gives a window to the virus. Another is why there are many healthy people who carry the borrelia burgdorferi bacteria. And it also explains why people who take the antibiotics initially get well, but those that don't take them early don't get well: the minor infection caused by the tick (or any insect, which helps to explain why people are now saying they think they get it from horseflies or spiders) bite is enough to distract the immune system and give the virus a window to proliferate, but with antibiotics the infection is quickly resolved and the virus does not have a window.

Anyway, the author recommends simple things specific to lyme as well as some more general things. I'll copy the things specific to lyme as well as a few easy general things.

Lyme specific:

  • Foods: star anise, asparagus, wild blueberries, radishes, celery, cinnamon, garlic, apricots, onions

  • Supplements: thyme, lemon balm, zinc, licorice root, l-lysine, lomatium root, reishi mushrooms, silver hydrosol, astaxanthin, nascent iodine

For gut health:

  • Use celery drinks to rebuild hydrochloric acid in the stomach in order to fix ammonia permeability. On an empty stomach (at least 2 hours after last meal), wash a fresh bunch of celery and juice, and drink 16oz immediately before it oxidizes. Wait one hour before eating.

  • By far best source of probiotics: beneficial bacteria living on leaves and skins of fresh vegetables. One option is to make a sprout (alfalfa, broccoli, etc) garden in your home. Another is to go to an organic famers market and eat raw, fresh, unwashed produce. Key is freshness. A gentle rinse without soap can be safe. Key is to be sure to find the highest quality farm you can in order to make sure the produce is safe to eat raw/unwashed. Only eat raw/unwashed produce when you know and are confident about the growing source and are sure that there are no toxins or other contaminants that can make you sick.

Best heavy metal detox: consume these five items daily

  • Barley grass juice extract powder: one or two tsp in juice or water

  • Spirulina, preferably from Hawaii: two tsp in juice or water

  • Cilantro: one cup daily, can be mixed in smoothies etc

  • Wild Blueberries only from Maine: at least one cup daily

  • Atlantic Dulse: two tablespoons of flakes daily

  • Extra boost: add burdock root

Lemon water:

  • drink two 16 oz glasses of water on an empty stomach after you wake up, squeezing 1⁄2 of a freshly cut lemon in each; for an extra boost, add a teaspoon of raw honey and a teaspoon of freshly grated ginger. wait 20 minutes before eating.

I went on the lyme protocol, and then the shingles protocol, and saw a bit of improvement; but then I realized that you could talk to one of his affiliates who would help you figure out what's right in your case, and started working with Carolyn Cavanaugh, who is really great. I've only been 3 weeks on what she recommended for me (she thinks my dominant issue has been a longstanding case of Epstein Barr Virus), and I am following the same progression as last time I got well on anti-virals, and already seeing glimpses of the 100%. The book is here and on his site he links to the preferred brands of supplements, his affiliates, and a bunch of other things which is really helpful. His recipe book is also excellent (easy, really healthy, and no joke, delicious) even if you don't buy into all the thinking behind it.

I've also picked up some things from other doctors which I believe are accelerating my improvement. One is oxygen therapy. I do 2 hours a day, 4-6 times a week and it makes my body feel like it's vibrating and gives me a lot of energy. Apparently what happens is that chemical exposure (from bacterial/viral die off, from VOCs in the air, mycotoxins, whatever) causes the small capillaries throughout your body to spasm, which blocks blood flow, which prevents oxygenation, leading to fatigue along with systemic issues. I would talk to Dr. Lisa Nagy about this (here is her site which has a talk from her on the front page). Be careful about what sources you get the oxygen from. Dr. Nagy should help you get the safest equipment to ensure you aren't inhaling a bunch of chemicals along with the oxygen.

Another is Advanced Biostructural Correction. I've got my whole family doing it, and they're seeing good results. Not just for pain etc. Helps the whole integrated body function better.

I have also found semen retention to be extremely positive, especially in terms of mitigating negative symptoms and speeding up recovery. Here is one somewhat mainstream source on it. I also made this guide for beginners if you want to check it out.

Anyway good luck with everything. LMK if I can help further with anything.
